Meine Fotos

Ja, ich weiß und ich habe auch schon eine Beschwerde darüber erhalten, dass die Qualität meiner Fotos nachgelassen habe. Ich gebe dem definitv recht. Deshalb hier eine kurze Begründung, mit den Fotos verhaelt es sich nämlich so:

Zum einen bin ich nicht scharf drauf, dass mir meine Kamera abhandenkommt, weshalb ich sie hier nicht so oft mit mir herum trage sondern stattdessen eine kleine, alte Komplexkamera.

Zum zweiten haben hier sehr wenig Menschen Kameras. Der Umkehrschluss daraus: Fotos zu machen ist etwas Besonderes. Wenn ich also Fotos mache, gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten: entweder, ich bin der Tourist, der ich durch meine weiße Haut eh schon zu scheinen bin, oder ich muss ganz viele Fotos von jemandem machen, was ich dann doch wieder nicht will. Und da es sehr selten vorkommt, dass gerade niemand in der Nähe ist, also eigentlich nie, ist das nicht zu vermeiden.

Dementsprechend kurz nehme ich mir auch Zeit, um Fotos zu machen: Rucksack auf, Kamera raus, Foto knipsen (manchmal im Laufen) und Kamera schnell wieder in den Rucksack. Du meinst das sei übertrieben? Mag sein, aber es ist einfach unangenehm hier zu fotographieren.

I know that the quality of my pictures is not as good as it have been before but I’ll tell you the reason:

Firstly I really love my camera and that is why I’m not taking it with me all the time. Not that Mwanza is that dangerous but I’m a mzungu, I have white skin, so I’m getting a lot of attention. So most time I’ve just my little old camera.

Secondly most people here don’t have a camera so taking pictures is something special. There are two possibilities: either I’ll seem to be a tourist and I don’t want to be that, or people are coming and want to be photographed and I don’t want that eighter. Most time I only got a second where nobody is around. You may think that I am overreacting and maybe you are right but I don’t feel comfortable taking pictures here.
