Bagamoyo

Bagamoyo - lege dein Herz nieder. Einst eine blühende Stadt des Sklavenhandels in Ostafrika und später zur Hauptstadt der deutschen Kolonie Tanganyika ernannt, verfällt das Küstenstädtchen mittlerweile ein wenig vor sich hin. Von den orientalisch geprägten Gebäuden geht dennoch ein Charme aus, der ein wenig an italienische Städte erinnert. Auch Bagamoyos Strände am Indik mit ihren Palmen und dem kleinen vorgelagerten Mangrovenwald haben durchaus Stil. Viele Fischer sind hier anzutreffen, die später ihren Fang auf Bagamoyos Fischmarkt verkaufen.

Bagamoyo - lay your heart down. Once a blooming town of slave trade in east Africa and later capitol of the German colony of Tanganyika today it is kind of decayed. But still te orientalic buildings give a certain charme to the town that reminds on Italian towns. Even the beaches of Bagamoyo, where the Indik meets palm trees and a lottle mangroove forest is very beautiful. Many fishermen can be watched there and later on the fishmarket where they sell their haul.
