Mein nächstes Jahr!

Ich bin zurück aus Berlin. Zurück aus dem Getümmel der Großstadt. Zurück von einem  Wochenende voller neuer Leute, massig Informationen, schönen Momenten und Aufregung. Und es hat sich gelohnt, denn:

Mit aller Wahrscheinlichkeit geht's nächstes Jahr für ein Jahr nach Tansania mit mir!

Jetzt muss nur noch die Partnerorganisation in Tansania zustimmen, aber IN VIA Berlin, die deutsche Trägerorgaisation hat mich aufgenommen!

I'm back from Berlin. Back from the tumult of the city. Back from a week-end full of new people, lots of information, nice moments and excitement. And it was worthwhile:  probably I'm going to Tanzania next year! The organization in Tanzania has to sign but IN VIA has already agreed.

Was IN VIA ist? Wann's los geht? Wo's genau hin geht? Was ich da mache?  Was jetzt kommt?

Was ist Weltwaerts und was IN VIA?

Weltwaerts ist ein Programm für entwicklungspolitischen Freiwilligendienst, der 2008 durch das BMZ (Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung) ins Leben gerufen wurde. Dabei werden Jugendliche zwischen 18 und 28 für ein Jahr in ein Projekt in einem Entwicklungsland gesendet.

Dies geschieht durch die Träger, welcher in meinem Falle IN VIA ist.

IN VIA ist ein sozialer Verein, der sich für Bildung, Schutz vor Gewalt und Missbrauch und Reisende (Eingewanderte, an Bahnhöfen oder Lebensreisende) stark macht. 

What is weltwaerts? What is IN VIA?

weltwaerts is a programm for developmental voluntary service which was founded in 2008 by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Developement. In this programm adolescens in the age of 18-28 years are sent into developing countries by an organisation like IN VIA. IN VIA is an social organisation which fights for education and Immigrants...and against abuse and violence.

Wann geht's los?

Mitte/Anfang August dieses Jahres. Und dann genau 12 Monate lang. Vorher sind aber noch zwei Vorbereitungsseminare.

When does it start?

In the middle of/In the beginning of August this year. I'll stay there for twelfe month. Before August there are two seminars for preperation.

Wo geht's genau hin?

Mein Projekt befindet sich in Tansania, genauer gesagt in Mwanza, Tansanias zweitgrößter Stadt. Sie liegt direkt am Victoriasee in der Nähe der Serengeti.

Where do I go exactly?

My project is located in the North of Tanzania, more exactly in Mwanza at the Lake Victoria.

Was mache ich da?

Ich werde in der Kirumba Scholl arbeiten. Das ist eine Schule für behinderte Kinder mit denen ich gemeinsam mit drei anderen deutschen Freiwilligen arbeiten werde.

What do I do there?

I'll work in the Kirumba School in Mwanza. There I'm working together with three other German asistants and the handicapped children.

Was kommt jetzt?

Am wichtigsten ist erstmal, das ich einen Förderkreis aufbaue, denn: das BMZ bezahlt nur 75% des Programms, die restlichen 2400€ muss die Entsendeorganisation aufbringen. Diese bitte darum die Freiwilligen, einen Förderkreis zur finanziellen und ideellen Unterstützung aufzubauen.

What comes next?
The most important thing for me is to have a group of sponsors because the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Developement does pay 75% so IN VIA has to pay the remaining 2400€. That's why the voluntaries are asked to found a Foerderkreis for financial and ideational supportment of the voluntary. I'd be very thankful if you'd join my foerderkreis.
