Ol Doinyo Lengai
Startpunkt: Arusha. 7h Busfahrt auf unebener Straße. Immer Richtung Kenia. Immer entlang des
Ostafrikanischen Grabenbruchs. Vorbei an Zebra- und Gnuherden, Massaidörfern, durch Dornstrauchsavanne und Sand- und
Steinwüsten und Steppen, auf
denen Gazellen grasen und Straußen
zwischen den Rinderherden ihren Weg suchen. Und natürlich an drei Gates, an denen Weiße ihre Dollars lassen sollen. Wo man dann
landet?
In Engerasero, einem 1500 Einwohner Massaidorf in
wunderschöner Landschaft, am Fuße des Ol Doinyo Lengai, einem aktiven Vulkan,
auch genannt der Berg der Götter,
unterhalb des Ostafrikanischen Grabenbruchs und in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Lake Natron, einer der weltweit größten Brutstätte für
Flamingos.
Starting Point: Arusha. 7 hours bus drive on a bumpy
road. On and on in the direction of Kenia. On and on along the Eastafricanriftvalley.
Passing zebras and wildebeest, villages of the Wamassai, thorn savannah and
rocky and sandy desserts where antelopes and ostriches are searching their way
through groups of cows. And passing three gates where white tourists have to
leave their dollars. Where you reach after that?
In
Engerasero, a village where about 1500 people are living, mostly Wamassai.
Located beneath the Ol Doinyo Lengai which is an active volcano, and next to
the eastafrican riftvalley and lake Natron. And within a wonderful landscape.
